I'm looking for some pro's options, I'm a big fan of the different manufactured wheel forced on to vw's, I've had a land river wheels on my caddy, making the most of the adapters.

I picked these up for next to no money, but it's gonna be a challenge to make um fit..

They look the nuts in profile..

However..

Slight fitment issues!

The backs will go with a bit of machining and re tapping the drums and camber.
The fronts are gonna be more of a challenge. The only options seems to be shortening the wishbones and been creative with the hubs/brake discs.

The wheels are off a Shelby, 5x112, 7x14 with an off set of -1/4" (good ol yanks) I'm struggling to find what model which leads me to believe they're pretty rare..

I want to know what people think, is it worth the effort or should I sell up and find something more appropriate.?

Only I know if they are worth all the work as its your opinion that counts.

IMO they don't look anything special to warrant serious graft to get them on but they are nice wheels if they were a straight bolt on :-)

The choice is yours ……….

I like them. It is good to see something different. Many people have narrowed the track to get wheels to fit. Could this be the first mk1 with a set of those wheels on?...

I get that they're nowt to special atm, but they tick all boxes. 14x7, concave, dish..
I think they might come up quite nice..

Pics nicked from e38, but it's what I have in mind for sorting out fitment issues.

Problem solved.

Hi
A mk1 with 5studs is just not right, looks like a bit of death trap to me.

Don't think they are worth all that bother, especially if they are still going to stick out beyond the bodywork and make the car illegal to drive.
Just my opinion.

An interesting dilemma, with a re-ferb I'm sure they'd look the biz, tidied up and polished…..nice. Not too sure about the centre cap though, a bit too prominent for me.
Personally I'd jog em on in favour of something else, if you can pick up good money for them then use the cash to buy something equally as rare but far less hassle to fit.
Just my opinion though, its how you feel that counts !
