You won't be able to see the gaps but if you try to crank it over when it's dark you will see where they're arcing/tracking. Give it a go in the dark, if you see any tracking your best to buy a new set of leads (AVS Car Parts - [The VW - Audi - Seat - Skoda Parts Specialist] are fairly priced).

Might be worth unplugging the connector and drying/cleaning it and then spraying it with electrical sealant when its back together.
Ive not had a problem since Ive done that
