Not a happy bunny

A couple of weeks ago i decided to change the clutch on my car and had a quote for ?129, sounded cheap and was by a nationwide company so took it there and had it done, 1 week later my girlfriend breaksdown. went and had a look at it,started well, engine sounded fine, couldnt see what she was on about. Then i went to move forward and there was a horrid grating sound. so i popped the bonnet only to find the driveshaft on the passenger side was totally off, every bolt undone and was able to move it about.

The worst thing is that all the brake lines are around there and the master cylinder is above it aswell. Plus she commutes down the motorway. Think how dangerous that would have been at 70-80mph either knocking out the brakes, digging in the ground and the jolt to one side as you loose drive.

Took it back to them, turns out they hadnt changed the bolts or even locktite them, and what do i get as compensation for putting my girlfriends and golfs lives in danger……a sorry and new bolts.

So really the point to all this is…dont go to MrClutch

About 8 years ago i took my Scirroco to mr Clutch in sheffield, they phoned me the following day to say there was an issue with the cable and it wont be ready till the third day. On the third day i got a call to say, the cable has pulled through the bulkhead and cracked it, we need to weld a new plate in.. After several days of arguing with them, they tried to say it was a common fault on all sciroccos and that i had to pay a further ?400 for the work to be done…
They wouldnt accept liability and said it was my fault for having an old VW….

I agree totally… DO NOT GO TO MR CLUTCH

I would rather ride naked into a wasp farm   on a donkey covered in honey :D  than let those mugs work on anything i owned, if i wanted to ruin my car im sure i could do that myself quite easily  brakes, clutches and the like are safety or specaialist items, ONLY to be touched by proffesionals who know what they are doing if you ask me, not some grease monkey with 1 GCSE and a draper socket set!
