new to mk1

hi all

me and my partner have just purchased a J reg White VW Clipper 1.8 gti although we are new to the mk1's we have had air cooled vans and restored the last one

Just got a quick question this little beauty needs a new fuel pump. Does anyone no the best place to get one, how much? and also what kind, as am new to the mk1's what does the 1.8i engine come under?

forgot to ask could anyone advise on what haynes manuel to purchase, Just a little confussed with the car being mk1?? but j plate 1.8 gti what running gear is it?? sorry for all the questions thanks

the haynes you want is the red one which is the later mk1 cabs also cover mk2 as well

but the earlyer blue haynes does come in useful for some things i've found

as for the fuel pump i think all gti's were fitted witht the same one so crazyquiff is your man

Got the car yesterday, body in great nic. Well not try and turn over, been told that this is because the fuel pump is broken and the pressure is not available?? does that sound about right to you knowledgable peeps?
