new powder coat colour

been messin about with powder coating at a mates factory that has full facilities, i have done plenty of stuff black, red, blue etc all standard colours and when i saw some ''chrome effect'' i thought i would try it on my fan shroud, so i sand blasted it and sent it through, i'm amazed at the colour and finish for powder coat its got a slight haze/ grey tinge to it so it you put it up againsy proper chrome it will looks dull in comparison but still well impressed

what you all think ???

power coat, or powder coat? ive heard some places to chrome powder coating but not many, ive always wondered how good it would look, you got any better pics?

Probably a daft question but is it possible to flat powdercoating and buff it like you would with normal car paint?

Yes, but it is also pretty rare.  If you have something coated with flat or semi-gloss powder and decide you'd prefer it glossy, your best option would be to have a high gloss clear powder coat applied.  "High gloss" powder coats are very glossy (with manufacturer gloss factors of 95% +/-5%) but some formulations or incorrect application can have a slight orange peel appearance.  There are cases where people use 800-3000-grit sand paper followed by light buffing on powder coat with varying effects, but the use of buffing compound can make it impossible to recoat without complete  stripping

It's like the black nickle affect you get on light switches, shiney but not over bling

i was thinking about this for my wheels. being powder coated, it would be tougher against the elements than if i polished and waxed them? is that right?
