New Number Plates

Hi Guys,

I need to get my number plates replaced.

But… I want to get them replaced exactly as they are now.

I.e. all the original garages markings, everything exactly as it has been since new.

Garage doesn't exist anymore, so is there any other way of getting them done?

You could try local automotive suppliers to the area in which the dealer was situated see if they made plates for them and if they still have the stencils. :dontknow:

Have a seach, specifically of Dubboy's posts. I remember him mentioning once that he got original looking plates specially made up.

any sign shop that also does number plates will do them for you without to much difficulty ..

Not sure if you are already sorted but we make up original dealer plates, dealer rear window stickers & dealer tax disk holders if your interested.

I can also copy your originals if you can supply a good jpeg.

Replied again, I don't get PM notifications for some reason!

i had my 1 remaining original one scanned by a signwriter/sticker maker, then printed onto reflective backing.
then went to a number plate maker and had the clear perspex layer pressed on and hey presto!! ..

new plates as per originals!! :)



1983 mars red gti
1984 mars red gti
1994 golf vr6 - gone but not forgotten
2005 mk5 gti family wagen

i had them done loads of times, but the place has gone now :( was a sign write and graphics company. it should not be to hard to get them done.
