new member needing help

Hi all, have just joined your club.Site looks great.
I bought a 1986 Mk1 1800 Gti cc Convertible which had been in storage for about 5 years,it has 87k miles and is in great nick.
Got her through MOT last week but now when she gets up to running temp she starts to miss and then cuts out.Everything has been renewed by previous owner who Mot car every year and then tucked car up in garage again.Fuel pump/filters,coil,timing belt, water pump everything new.
Its as if she is being starved of fuel but runs fine until she is warm.
Would appreciate any ideas ,if i spend any more money or time in the garage the wife will kill me.

Thanks Col

Prob is being starved of fuel because a rotten fuel filler pipe has filled the tank with muck. Does it restart if left for a while?

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

sometimes will start straight away ,other times has to sit for a while which mad me thick it was something to do with engine heating up.engine runs fine until she heats up to running temp then all the fun starts

Might be something electrical/electronic breaking down when warm. I'd remove the inspection cover under rear seat and sender unit in top of tank and see if its full of crud. Is the filler pipe rotten or suspiciously brand new?

One of mine had that same problem so I changed the injectors and the seals that sorted it.
