If you look around at cars being broken etc you could get a genuine one for cheaper in good condition.

Seriously i would not go for a non-gen bonnet, they are garbage the frames on the ones i have seen are really flimsy and some don`t seem to match 100% in length to allign to the wings.
If your prepping the car for painting you won`t have any dents in a 2nd hand one if you prep it right

Yeah but what he's saying mate is that the "brand new" pattern bonnet most likely won't fit properly.
Surely if you're that worried about quality it would be better to spend the time on a genuine bonnet than money on a crap pattern bonnet?

Bonnets are not the usual corrosion spot either, so will be easier to source than wings for example.
