my old girl wont run!

Hi can anybody help.

My '83 GTi `1.8 has been stood a while and I have changed the two fuel lines from the tank . I have had the car running but it was running uneven . Now I cant get it to run. I have fuel to the cold start valve , fuel is coming through the warm up reguator. I have given a squirt of easy start through the air inletand it runs evenly , then cuts out.

Any ideas . I want to get the old girl purring again.
