my golf 1 CTI ltd edition worked

Hey, I have a mk1 golf CTI ltd edition 1995 model, I worked it a little, it had a 1.8i litre engine, now its a 2litre 8valve with k-jetronic injection and 30 thou rebore, I gasflowed the head and have wildcat exhaust and branches, I have 272 racing cams, the head is worked. Does anyone know if I can beat a toyota 20valve RXI or RSI or twincam 16valve? I ran against a bmw M3 and a bmw Z4 and I worked both of them

Hello and welcome to the forum. I had to read that twice due to lack of paragraphs but I think I get the jist.

Not sure about your racing question (not that I condone that sort of thing)

Oh and one more thing…..

Right - so I will hazard a guess and say you are from Durban? or maybe Jozie?

Most fella's on this forum are not going to know what the heck you are on about… but i did read your post with a massive grin …. takes me back to 'dicing' near the docks in Durban on Thursday nights…. not that i condone that sort of thing  :D

Honestly think those bemmer drivers weren't trying or didn't now how to drive… dont think are sub 6 sec with those mods. I think you would run a twin cam, the rsi has long legs, and i think after 100 he would smoke you…. well thats my 2 cents anyway…

welcome to the forum…. !!

ok firstly a CTi is not limited edition…sorry to tell you.  What's so "limited" about it?

secondly,  you mentioned you have 272 racing CAMS.  272 on a 2.0 8v is hardly a "racing" cam, that's a little baby pissgat cam in my opinion.

Thirdly, CAMS??? seriously?  an 8v has 2 camshafts? :|  :dontknow:

Lastly, if you havent noticed this site/club is UK based so i doubt any of the guys know or really care what a 20v RXI, RSI or twincam is.  Hell, we don't even consider those performance cars in SA.

Why would you wana mess with small fries like Toyotas if your car is clearly an M3 killer?

I recon my 8v will "work" your mk1 and it is 25 years older.
As will many other mk1s on here.

What a joke! :D
