My Clipper Cab is an L reg - does that make it rare?

hello everyone…

I have a 1993 Mk1 Clipper Cab in dark green with a beige power hood. It's all original, in good condition and has about 80k on the clock.

Does the fact that it is an L plate make it a rare car? I have never seen another L registerd Mk1 about???

 it sounds like from the colour it could make it a Rivage? does it have beige leather seats?  post a picture up is the best bet, just host it in photobucket and paste the link on the post

I thought the Rivages only came in Blue…?  :dontknow:

It is definitely a Clipper. It does have beige/cream interior but it is not leather. I will try to post a photo…

Are there many mk1's about on a L or later reg?

I doubt there will be any later but prob quite a few on L plate

So, the PDF for Buying a Cabby shows that there were 217 standard Clippers made in 1993, just 3 in 1994 and just 2 in 1995.

Of the Rivages, mine is one of the 133 made in 1991 (registered in 1992, so not sure if the figure on the table is for manufacture or registration, but since it comes from VAG, I'm guessing manufacture…anyway…), 211 Rivages made in 1992, and 126 in 1993.

I'm guessing there's not all that many of them still left on the road…but given how wrong I was about the Rivage colour, I may be wrong again!

In that case…..the paint colour will be "pearl green metallic" (Rivage green was called "classic green pearl metallic") this is what combination is listed for the clipper in that build year in my April 1992 brochure i got 8) , the hood is listed as Beige and the interior is called "Sahara", its the only one listed with that combination of colours so its probably quite rare anyway 8)  despite it being an L reg

And………….you could also order a Sportline in Jasmine Yellow 8O  never ever seen one though!!!
