MOT Shock!!!

Hi all

Have just come back from the MOT testing garage and to my amazement the old girl passed with nothing needed to get her through!!

But there are a couple of advisories and with me not being the mechanical type I'm looking for advice on if they are serious and if they will be expensive to get 100%….

1.Offside front Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment

2.Offside rear Service brake. Your vehicle has only just met the required service brake efficiency. It would appear that the braking system requires adjustment or repair

1. Just a case of removing the strut and fitting a new top mount, if they are old then change shocks and springs whilst at it. It won't cost too much and can be done in a couple of hours with basic spanner knowledge but always do them in pairs

2. Pop the rear hub off and have a look around, clean everything up and make sure you have no leaks then adjust hand brake cable as required
