MOT booked for tomorrow

Bright and early 08:30.

I'm bricking it already!!! It's like a test of whether I'm worthy enough to maintain a car.

I sorted out a fuel leak last night so it's bound to stink of fuel even tomorrow morning.

I always try the "car is so clean he wont notice anything" ploy... Didnt do too bad this year, front brake pipes needed changing, ?6 each from GSF, 15 mins to change, free re test... I was happy.

I always try and have a good chat with MOT testers.  They can be surprisingly helpful when they want to be. Like after fitting coilies i forgot to put the brake pipe back in the holder on the shock, or when one guy with some time on his hands actually tuned my car whilst it was on the CO tester :D  :D  :D

It's just failed on some really silly things the funniest one is the horn which worked when I tested it before I left didn't work in the test or when I was messing around with it afterwards but then worked as soon as I'd left the test station.

Exhaust leak at the joint, couple of lighting problems were the other fails so should be fine for a retest next Saturday ready for all types on the Sunday.

Why do I leave these things so late???

No cars should ever fail on lighting!  It's the most common fail but it's the simplest thing to check and the cheapest thing to rectify.

Sorry that sounded a bit harsh didn't it?

I just don't understand it when peoples cars fail on lighting when it's so easy to check.

Oh, remember that you need to check the number place illumination on both bulbs and that you don't need reverse lights for MOT.  Good luck with the re-test!

Yeah I checked that everything worked ok but just forgot to check the alignment so I think that gives you every right to be harsh about it even if it wasn't meant that way

THanks for the luck. Having problems with the rear lights at the moment it doesn't seem to be an earthing problem at the slam panel.
