Err - wouldn't a clipper kit be a better option?

my thoughts exactly!!

Are you thinking of the mk2 big bumper kit, then if so as CQ says, the clipper kit will be a better option…

otherwise, they are the wrong shape and wont fit right!!
I remember seeing a cabby somewhere with the mk2 big bumper kit and it looked wrong, wrong wrong

There was a phase of this during the early to mid nineties. I remember attending inters back then when loads of Mk1s had the big bumpers from Mk2s. The fronts had to be cut slightly as the Mk1 front end is slightly wider than the Mk2.
Personally I quite liked some of them when the job was done well.
However that was before the Mk1 became the classic it is now and I now believe keeping them as original as poss is best.

exactly right, I cant stand mk1's that look like mk2's

clipper kits look great no need to be getting rid of it

i see your points... but i really dont like the overweight look of the front end, also i dont think you get as good down force when going at speed as you do with the mk1 gti spoiler, so the clipper kit must go :D
