Mk1 workshop / Haynes manuals

Having just purchased a Mk1 Gti, I was looking to purchase a good manual as it will not doubt become invaluable….

Has anyone ever came across one of these:

Car Parts & Accessories - VW GOLF WORKSHOP MANUAL was sold for R65.00 on 20 Mar at 18:00 by Zoar Antiques in Cape Town (ID:3300606)

If so, is it worth-while having?

Also, is there a noticable difference between a Vw workshop manual for a Mk1 and the appropriate haynes manual, which is better?

Any advice would be appreciated

Deffo not my mate . Looks like Autodata book .

You want a Haynes manual with a brown cover for early cars and blue or red cover for later cars .

Hope that helps

Cheers dude,

I had a look on the haynes website but couldn't see a version with a brown cover. Found it on ebay however, so a copy should hopefully be winging its way to me right now….

thanks for your help. :y:

Cheers guys,

I may just hand her in to the local Vw 'speciallist' if it requires anything more complicated than a spark plug change!

Don't have the time these days to carry out any work thats too demanding.

Gone are the days of replacing wishbones, stub axles etc…. :tlc:

That's quite a comprehensive list of manuals etc, I presume I'd be after the Rabbit version?

Gti only covers Mk2 models and Rabbit section doesn't include Gtis.  Either get the rabbit book/cd and buy seperately a guide to K-Jet or just get the haynes manual.

Alternatively, have a look here.  If you have a quick printer and plenty of paper you can print the manual out.

Hold on a minute… :hand:

Unfortunatley,

мой русский не столь же хорош, как это использует, чтобы быть!

and I couldn't see any refererence to an english translation

Look at the sections to the left of the screen (in Russian and English)  Click on those and then select your car in the next screen.  It will download a PDF file

More help!! Workshop Manuals for clippers / cabriolets

Hi guys, looked everywhere, including the RU site but no success.  I've got a '92 clipper.  So Mk1 body and I believe a Mk2 engine?  Can't find any manual to cover this car…  any ideas?

cheers
Mac

THIS is by far the most comprehensive late cabriolet manual I've used.

Thank ew,

but this looks like one I looked at before that stated specifically that it did not cover carb'd engines…?  or was that a different manual?

If this comes recommended, I'll get it!

thanks (again)
