mk1 virgin, help.........

hi guy's, just got my first mk1 and have loads of time and ideas but don't know where to start…. looking to upgrade to a 1.8t, yes i know its a mission but im gonna stick it out. cars been done once 6 yrs ago buy a mate and looked superb at the time but he blew the gti engine the first day he drove it and now its been passed down to me. car needs complete interior conversion, new braking system? was thinking tt brakes? new suspension, new dashboard as it dosn't have one. basically starting from scratch.

So its an unfinished project?
