MK1 MPG diesel average

I am looking to purchase me a MK1 diesel but I do not know how much diesel it takes per mile. Do you know how much the MK1 diesel  will take per mile?

I'd guess they average 45-60mpg depending on how its being  driven 
Mk1 2l TSR G60.  .getting. There twice as fast

Mk1 lhd diesel…….getting. There for half the cost

60 MPG on the highway and 45 in the city?

Yes , it will vary from  car to car and driver to driver….  do prefer a turbo diesel over a straight diesel because I live in a hilly area and straight diesel tend to run out of steam up hill very quick .

Hi,

50-58mpg for me with a '79 1500 diesel. I could probably make 60mpg on a run, and now I've got a 5-speed box fitted, so that may help.
