Mk1 GTi wanted for mag feature near Bristol

Hello all,

I was wondering if someone here might be able to help. I'm looking for a Mk1 Golf GTi for a bit of a last-minute magazine photoshoot.

The plan is to do it either late next week (28/29/30 Jan) or early the following one (2 Feb onwards). It'll be in or around the Bristol area. I'm waiting to hear back from a location about 20 minutes south of the city, but if that doesn't work out, we'll find somewhere else local.

It'll involve bringing together the Mk1 GTi with a Peugeot 205 GTi in an 'ultimate 80s hot hatches' sort of feature.

If someone can provide a car (it doesn't need to be anywhere near concours - just fairly standard), it'd be great to hear from you.

Without wishing to sound like 'beggars can't be choosers', I'm afraid I was ideally looking for a hatch rather than a cabby. Sorry - I should have put that in the original post.

I have a standard helios blue campaign in top condition (if i do say so myself),im based circa 50 miles south of Bristol.

I've got a 205 GTi sorted, so it's just the Golf to go. Thanks for the offer, MK1MAD - your car sounds great. The location I've got is also south of Bristol - just outside Shepton Mallet. Is that okay for you? And are you around early next week?!
