Mk1 Golf, what needs to be done ?
Hi people,
new to the forum and just joined up
Thinking of buying a mk1 golf, just simply because theyre awsome
found one for sale but it has light front end damage, so just wondering if you people can help me out and let me know what kind of work would need doing to it to get it back to how it should be.
This picture isnt mine but of the sellers. i dont own it yet!
not sure if this is in the right section either…
Cheers

to be honest we'd need to see pictures of the damage to give you any advice really
if it is 'light' then should only require a few outer panels that simply bolt on, damage to the inner wing and/or front panel areas would require cutting out and replacing or at best, beaten back into shape.. but would be weaker
the main thing regarding any accident damage is if the chassis has been bent, do the door gaps all look even? a bent chassis can 'usually' be pulled out straight again but can be quiet expensive
another point to consider is weather it has been classed as an insurance write-off.. CAT B means it's only good for spares! CAT C is repairable but does devalue the car quiet considerably
how much is it going for?
Hope that helps

it does look light damage, doors dont look out of line and bonnet isnt folded back, only that the bonnet has a small bend in it in the n/s corner. also in the corner from tope to bottom has been pushed back abit, and looks like its had a new n/s wing fitted.
ill try and sort out the picture now aswell
and its ?450
