So you put the thing on and it looks great (crap actually)……then you look around and realise you need to put the number plate back on, and light it up. So you bodge something up and it looks crap (crap).

They look crap.

Just a personal opinion, of course……

i agree paul_c in all honestly.

it looks good but what do i do with the no plate?  get a front hanger under the bumper and it looks weired. lights stay behind the trail blazer and lights it up and have to put another under bumper for rear plate.

but it looks good but weired i am unsure. looks very american not euro at all

These were very common in the 1980s. I had one on my Campaign from new in 1983.

The kit consisted of the 'tailblazer' to give it its correct name that had various designs on it and fitted between the rear lights. It also came with a number plate relocation kit, that consisted of a holder (that could be fitted below the rear bumper) that had two lights either side of it to legally illuminate the rear number plate when the vehicles lights were on.

If fitted correctly they did look good, for the era, especially if the original number plate lamps were still operable and the rear stripe was removed from the hatch.

Today, a lot of tailblazers pop up on Ebay, but you rarely see the number plate relocation kit as well.

Here is a picture of my brand new Campaign with the tailblazer, taken in September, 1983.

I'd have that off you for a fiver, would light it up with an LED and make a wall light in my office from it..

Dont think they look right on cars any more, my neighbour has a a few carpis and one them has a proper 80's kit on it with the capri version, i keep telling him ot change it to crapi but he's havin none of it

I quite like them too! I have a broken one for my S1 GTi and it looks pretty good in my opinion! I can understand why people don't though
