mk1 golf rare?

so we've all seen it in the adverts  that word that keeps cropping up which seems to let sellers add ridiculously large amonts of scene tax to a parts or accessory's only to find that there are 3 other identical items for sale on the same page,
so lets have the definative answer to this age old question what is rare where mk1 golfs are concerned and what have you got that is truly rare
get em out folks what you got  8)

  Yes, Dubboy's possessions.

Not exciting, but I've got a Mk1 Golf boot tidy accessory which I'd never seen before. As you can see it hooks over the mounting for the washer bottle so it's secure, then the washer bottle can be slid back on. It's shaped perfectly for the contours of the rear wheel well, so not just a universal one?

Everything Mk1 Golf related is rare, to a greater or lesser extent. It depends what you call rare. I estimate there's 4000 or so Mk1 Golfs on the roads. I've owned cars (still do) where there's about 20 of them still on the roads. Makes it tricky to find spares etc.

Rare doesn't automatically mean its any good! For some things, they're rare for a reason…….

My take on this is for something to become "rare" it had to be unliked in the first place so not many were sold, fast forward years and people decide they want a certain part and for the reasons above cant find the part of if they do its for ££££££££££££££

I have a set of opening 1/4s like posted above and i also keep buying "P" centra caps if i can get them cheap enough, not to resell but im sure i will lose a few when my car is on the road, My car is in all OG paint with all the correct stickers in place on the door pillars and boot to me thats rare as so many have been repainted and in all honsestly i donk think mine does.

Not just things that were dissliked are rare, limmited runs and stuff that breaks become rare, stuff that's so popular that they have been on most cars that got scrapped, fell into dissuse and just couldn't be saved.

The only thing I've got that is rare is a kamie spoiler.  I had a scirocco 16v exhaust manifold once! Now they are rare! S1 gti seats are rare, the plastic rear arch covers, 1.6 gti engines and boxes are getting there too
