MK1 Driver GTI Is it worth 1800
Hello,
Finally found a mk1 worth buying that hasn't been modified by a boy racer or is as rotten as a pear.
I'm looking to pick it up on sunday for 1800, the car started life has a driver but has been converted to a very tasteful gti with all the right mods- standard engine, good colour and very nice alloys and trim
What i'd like to know is am i paying too much or is it a steal?

If the conversion has been carried out professionally then I dont see why it should'nt command that price, seeing as you get a lot of converted Driver's?
A good condition GTI would probably cost around that much anyway, the only thing is its not a GTI on paper!!

I looked at that earlier and if its as good as it looks for that money I dont think you can go wrong whether it started life as a driver or not

cheers for the reply, i think golfs like this are few and far between, i think the general concensus is that its a nice clean mk1.

go for it
it looks like a real good one, with everything done, so you hopefully wont need to spend any cash on it yourself. 1800 seems reasonable to me, if it was 'true' GTi it could prob fetch alot more.

fwoah, looks lovely that!
so would you be able to insure that as a 1.8 driver?

kinda irrelavent what you want to insure it as, its modified from standard so you can't have a std policy.
It'll be insured as driver with a GTI engine, so they'll prob charge GTI ins group rate.
