Mk1 Dilemma
I currently own a MK4 tdi 130 and love it - but have always wanted a MK1.
The missus has an A4 avant that we will use as the 'family car' as i only have a 6 mile commute to work and sometimes cycle anyway
I will have to get rid of the MK4 as we cannot afford to have both Golfs.
The MK4 has some nice mods (and mod cons) and i am worried that i may regret getting rid.
has anyone else been in the same situation?

but the fun and the pride you get when heads turn to follow your car makes it worth it
sold the clipper now have tintop.i would not swap for any other car now but its your choice
if you get one it will frustrate you cost you money and endless weekends doing things to it
but thats the beauty of mk1 golf ownership go on join the club

Having a Mk1 as a daily is brilliant.
I do a 16 mile commute to work, the only time I was regretting it was when we had that freezing weather, but it was a bit extreme.
I just love the way I'll be cruising along on the dual carriage way and you notice that someone is overtaking you, but really slowly cos they are looking at the car!

It has confirmed what i had hoped - definately going to take the plunge.
My concern is getting hold of a decent S1, they seem to be rare and getting spares could be impossible.
The mk1 has already got me jumping through hoops and i havent even bought it yet
