Mk1 Clipper ... Manual Conversion?

Hello All!

After wanting to own a mk1 (or 2) VW for years i finally may have my mitts on a black Mk1 clipper with low mileage and completely original…. however it's an automatic (I know i know the dreaded word) … how easy or should i say how much would it cost to get a manual conversion done and is it worth it??

I have a 5 speed gear linkage, if it helps. Not the gearbox, pedal cluster, gear knob or gaiter, though...

Big job and has been asked a few times! I'd be tempted to hold on and buy a manual or put up with the auto - I'd quite fancy one!

Mines an auto dont knock it till you 've tried it, there not that bad really

Well - with a box you're not going to get much change from ?150

i have a mk2 13 manual but im soon to be getting a auto delived and was looking into doing the same thing but with engine swap at the same time so lets us know how you get on and any problems you encounter
