MK 1 Golf van Value and how many left.

Finally got my mk1 panel painted and about to go down the route of getting agreed value cover as it currently has market value only. Being that its quite rare I am not sure what to value at as not a lot of others out there to compare it against. I have Footman James multi car policy and they just need a few photos but i need to give them a value. Also anyone know how many of them are left?

As for values it's hard to say, I recall seeing a white one on ebay in near perfect condition for about £3K. FoxyMk1 on here also had a 20vt Van for sale at £6K. They are rare but are also quite a niche market being a commercial vehicle, so rarity doesn't = high values. Caddy values are very strong but I'm unsure if a Mk1 Golf Van could be valued at similar prices as it is a very different commercial.

I'd value it at the price of an equivalent spec non-commercial Mk1 plus say £500-600 which would cover purchase of replacement van panels.

Totally agree, I've been after one for a while because mine will be a company van for promo and so I can get the vat back on all the mods!

no i sold it to a friend but im in the middle of building another van at the moment its a freshly painted shell on a spit, got any pics of yours?

Not yet, it's not painted yet, what colour did you go for this time?

I found a pic today, it's not pretty, interesting you are going Red, is it a Vdub colour? or are you keeping that to yourself?

i mite paint it again yet as it looks more brown than red lol, long way to go woth yours then

Got a turbo diesel lump in mine as its my daily doing about a 1000 miles a month in it. Makes me smile. Since i painted it i have had so many people comment on it being cool or "ain't seen one of those before. Is it a real van?"  I was going to buy a caddy but found the van and it suited my needs better. Can leave tools in it when i need to. I have a rear bench that i will fit so kids can go in it occasionally. As for value i am going to try and get agreed value of 3k from Footman James(fingers crossed)

Nah, bit of t-cut that will buff up nicely, yes it is looking bad but I have to confess I'm not handy with a spray gun like you so I'll leyt the pro's have a go

i agree with the leaving tools in it much more practical, il be using mine as a daily work van as it costs me £63 for the year and my bora cost me £63 a month!! i hav a 1.9TD to go in also, sadley mine is not a real van just found some panels again lol we need pics of yours mate il get some up of mine wen i fine my camera

put your knickers back on luv i just didnt understand wat you said lol, i dnt have a scanner but will try to take pics or take it to a NW show so you can scan it for the club

been colour sanding and polishing the van today. Only got drivers side and bonnet done but progress never the less.
