Mk.1 diesel

New to this forum and straight in with a bit of a plea for help !

We are running a 1984 Mk1 diesel bought as ex-demonstrator by my father-in-law, as part of my interest in keeping it on the road (now over 170,000 miles) and also therefore improving it, I want to run it on waste veggie oil.
Are there any of you out there using veggie oil in a Golf (or similar), what modifications are required for keeping the single tank set up ?

I am trying to get as many WVO experiences as possible to convince her it is a good idea.
Thanks

I know A5OPY is runnig his pajero ona 50/50 mix, my caddy is going in for a service tomorrow and then I'll be trying it, but it does say in my handbook that it will run on it, plus inside the filler cap it says DIESEL/BIODIESEL..

But as to the older engines I'm unsure..

Thanks, I will also investigate whether the Mk.2's are OK with WVO mix as ours is right at the end of the Mk.1's.
I can not believe the diesel engines were changed much in their production runs.
I do not even know how widespread the "JK" engines were across the VW model ranges.
