Lucky escape today !!

Had my tin top booked in for its MOT today at 8:30.

Well I got about a quarter of a mile up the road and a strange patch appeared on the bonnet, looked like ice was forming.

Pulled over straight away and cut the engine, opened the bonnet to be greeted with a fine jet of fuel :-(

The main hose to the fuel rail had split at the jubilee clip and was firing fuel up under the bonnet, thankfully everything was still relatively cold !!

Any way slightly shortened the hose and made the MOT in time, oh and she passed :-)

Looking forward to the Staffs meet tomorrow now !!

Cor blimey that was lucky! Glad you got it sorted and it passed its mot. Looking forward to seeing this engine at the agm.

had the same happen to me last year when i had the G60 fitted, on route to a charity rolling road day done about 15 miles, could smell fuel but thought it was the car in frount then noticed condensation on the bonnet, i knew what was happing fuel line split but thankfully only a mile from the rr and they had spare hose car only made 177bhp that day
