love , hate about your mk1. ?

What do you love and what do you hate about your mdk1 ?      I hate the grill not fitting right , and the noise of the exhaust .:                         I love the sound of the charger , and the fact it is a mk1

I love the shape and how versatile it is for fitting in people/skis/snowboards/bikes/paragliding wings/festival gear etc.

I hate the dodgy electricals and all the things that break down with age - to be expected of course, but if this car was still being made, I'd ditch the old one and buy a newer one for sure.

i hate the hood its holding together with duck tape need to replace it soon but with this fine weather at the mow i dont need a roof
loveing my new bonnet bra, crosshair lights and badgeless  grill good times

Love-The fact its a Mk1-Iconic!! The attention it gets where ever you go.

Hate-The fact its in bits in my garage! Watch this space

I just love the car - all of it, even the bad bits!

I hate the fact that I can't drive it as it is in bits. Progress is slow and I WANT IT BACK ON THE ROAD!

i love the smile it gives me when driving, the fact that at 80mph plant the foot, she lifts her skirt and goes  

i hate the rattles i got at mo, but will find em and sort em  :? and the squeek when i change gear (clutch in and out or lift off and resqueeze go peddle)

Love driving it and the enjoyment it gives me.

Hate the fact its in the body shop and i cant drive it. also hate the rattles and little things that wind me up.

HATE - the cv joint banging, rusty arches, 4x4 stance.

LOVE - everything else about the car, makes me smile every time i drive it.

Love the driving, the noise, getting attention from other people.

Hate the old alarm lock on the side of the door.

Love tinkering and fitting a G60 to give her a new lease of life.  :mrgreen:

Hate not being able to drive it whilst doing the thing I love.  :dontknow:

Its a mk1, whats not to love. The attention is mint, had a bloke in a old bmw 540 admiring it the other day, Good times.

I love the smell of the old interior, the sound of my exaust, the styling from every angle, the respect i get from people who know what they are on about, going round roundabouts, how good the shell is still, all the bits i have made for it, the rear lights and the driving all over the place.

I hate having to insure, tax and mot it every year because it costs loads of money that i could use on petrol and doing it up more.

I also hate how long it is taking to get back on the road since buying mk1jims old G60 engine! 3 months ish? it will be well worth the wait though.
 it is a 1.9 now jim! I'll come and visit you and Ross when its done.

i just love mine FULLSTOP  the hubby as just bought a hard top gti but not as nice as our vera of course x

I love the way people stop and watch wherever you drive. I love the the timeless looks and the way the simplest mods make me smile. I love the way the engine seems to have fixed it's running issues all by itself.
Can't say I hate any bits just wish I has pas. Leather retrim and respray first, hmmm

I love the timeless look of the mk1… Love hunting for stuff for it on eBay… Most of all I love to drive it… It gets great attention when I'm out and about!

Love the style.

Hate the noise, the lack of speed, the unreliability, the suspension, the road noise, the unsupportive seats, the cramped driving position, the primitive fuel delivery, the fuel consumption, the weird interior style, the manual choke, the overheating and the backfiring under heavy load.

And I couldn't be happier!
