Light green mk1 burnt out

Spotted a light green mk1 burnt out just off Princess way near to Withington in Manchester. The wheels are still in good condition but the rest looks totally burnt. Someone was robbing bits from the engine compartment as I passed. Likely to end up in the local scrappy.

he hasn't abandoned it, it caught fire en route to the MOT station.

it was recovered whilst he was at the scene.

I must of seen a mirage then?

Saw the pic's on clubpolo. Such a shame was a good car, enjoyed the build thread

  The person 'robbing' was probably the owner Saf haha The dodgy looking barsteward.

Very very gutted about this car, really was a nice golf and small light. Was waiting for my ride in it    Saf did not deserve that at all.

Burnt out cars are typically given Cat A writeoff status (no parts may be removed and resold) because when a car burns, the plastic insulation on the wiring degrades to a highly toxic chemical. Also, the insurance company would need wheels on the car to recover/remove it.
