Last registered ....MK1 GOLF GTI ?????

I have a Dec 1983 registered campaign,
and was wondering when was the last golf gti registered???? (1984/1985 even)

I have seen an un-registered silver campaign advertised on ebay about 30 times now so i assume theres some problem with it

I've seen a D registered Mars Red Campaign before.

But I guess it all comes down to the DVLA and what they decide  or even mistakes they make when processing vehicle details. They once messed up with a mini I owned, it was a '91 Cooper and I'd had a private plate on it. When I removed the plate they allocated a '93 L reg to the car. I could've left it on but got straight on the phone and got it back on a year correct H plate.
