kr, 9a, abf?

i recentley had the chance of a kr engine an all the bit's for my rebuild but crappy ebay seller pulled out last min.!! I'v been tryin to do some research on engine conversions and it was the kr i was planning on using but since i feel there is something else i can use. i was hopping to spend up to £500 on a donnar car for most of the bits, my current shell is a mk1 1.3 driver. i'v read abit on 9a bottom blocks bolted to kr heads and people using abf engines even G60's. Any views on these conversions concerning avalabilty, how difficult to fit, best gear boxes, any other conversions i'v overlooked etc would be muchley appreciated. i know i need to know alot more but i jst want to single my choices down.
 thanx Shaun

Very good article tho if you don't mind me saying. i was jst after some opinions on the different conversions available, and what cars i can pull these conversions from.

kr

na then,

i have just gone kr, 2.0l 16v from rado. i bought the engine, gear box, ecu, loom, manifold, drive shafts, engine mounts already on as it was out of a mk1 ( he's going 20v! ) the full works to just drop in. saw it running also which was bonus. all for princley sum of £250!, should be in my tin top by next week and will form part of my resto build thread which i havent got round to doing yet but have loads of photos. anyway, abf slightly more money and slightly more modern, theres plenty of kr's out there but like you say when you dont want one and when you do they dissapear! i will keep you posted with mine and let you know. cheers :D

The Corrado used both KR and 9A in its lifetime. the KR is a 1.8 16V and the 9A is the 2.0 16V.
