Karmann spec?

Hi folks..ive just bought my first mk1 cabby today and I was just wondering if someone could clear up what version it is…

Basically its a 1983 1.8 GTi Cabriolet
It's got the clipper body kit
Power Hood and windows
Heated front seats

It does have the Karmann badges on the front wings…but I wasn't sure if it actually was one, or if someone has just stuck them on.

So if anyone knows if it is the karmann model or another type please let me know.

…Apart from the Karmann badges. All cabriolets were produced (assembled) by Karmann, hence the badges on the wings. (Technically, a lot of the parts were manufactured by VW in Wolfsburg, but then transported to Ornabruck and assembled by Karmann, the factories were relatively close together).

Just double checked and it was first registered in 1984 sorry.

its had the power hood heated seats and clipper kit fitted at a later date then not such a bad thing the early cabs came with manual hood small bumpers and standard recaro style seats :wink:
