8) I have nearly finshed the bodywork on my 83 golf gti bought 8 months ago  and getting ready for the mot. There is a small fuel leak under the fuel tank which only leaks with the ignition on. Also it has has a rear disk conversion and they do not seem to work at all. The car has been stood for approx 2 years so that could have something to do with it. I am certainly no mechanic but am keen to do as much as i can myself. Any advice would be much appreciated. cheers

probablly one of the accumilator hoses

as for the brakes it depends on the setup mk2 rear disc setup is terrible for seizing up strip down free of the piston replace the pads and fully grease up and should be ok
