is there a cabrio 1.3?

this car is for sale on ebay and he says it is a 1.3 special edition and it has a 1.3 standard engine in since the factory. The picture clearly shows a 1.5 big block but the guy wont have it. Given it is a 1983 it cant be a south african big block 1300 unless it was a conversion and the guy says the engine is original.

What are your thoughts?

thankyou! i was only trying to be helpful. i dont want to buy the car but told him in a nice way that he had listed it as a 1.3 but its definatly a 1.5 in the picture and he replied saying it is a 1.3 and has been since the factory as its a special edition-???? what sort of a special edition? a downgraded big block edition lol!

YIKES!!!

Never heard of a 1.3 cabby… it would be too under powered for the weight of the body. 1.5 was the lowest they went to.

I don't really run other folks cars down because its just a matter of taste but I had to check where it was so i could avoid it at all costs!!!!!!

I retract that statement, I just dont like green, and the owner has obviously spent a lot of time to get the car to his personal taste, apologies to anyone offended!

i agree though, its not to my taste but i like the no-bumper look.

SA 1.3 blig blocks are only in hard tops arnt they? the guy emailed me back and said the DVLA & insurance are happy its a 1.3. !!!!
Initially i was just putting in a friendly word but this guy is seriously wrong - the problem i have is, the car will sell to some poor unsuspecting young driver who will get done for having invalid insurance down the line!

also just thinking wouldnt it be down as a 1272cc with the DVLA and not 1300cc. i think someone has sent off the logbook and scammed the DVLA at some point.
