is my clipper the oldest in the country (on the road)???

me and a few mates were wondering if my golf is the oldest or one of the oldest on the road today… 1980 1.6 Clipper.. V reg… seen plenty of mk1 cabbys but never one as old as mine!
does anyone have one older on the road?

If anyone has, it'll be Rajan!! (aka dubboy) I know he's got an early cabby, not sure the year though.

Got any pics for us? I like the look of the early cabbys.

possibly :dontknow:  but either way it WONT be a "clipper" this was a name given to a specific version of the later body kitted car from 1988 onwards, most people refer to any kitted car as a clipper though, does that make mine a sportline clipper? :lol:  yours is just a golf cabriolet dude as they all are :D

My Cabrio might be the earliest 'Clipper', its a '87 with the small bumpers made for a short time before the big bumper version arrived.

Never thought of that, sort of ties in with my GTI being a very eary 1800 version 8)
