Identifying an engine size

I'm wondering if one of you lot on here can help me out!

I've got a mark 1 S2 small block - listed as a 1.1 in the logbook however i'm convinced it's a 1.3!

Now I know that the 1.1 code is GU and the 1.3 is GF

However the only problem i'm having is finding and locating the engine code stamped on the front of the block properly!

I've tried to get underneath to look up at the front of the block but the car's a bit too low for me to squeeze my head under haha!

I have found some letters/numbers stamped on the left however I don't think this is the code.

I would very much appreciate it if someone could post up a picture of the front of a small block pointing out exactly where the code is stamped i.e. is it behind the outlet manifold? or the engine mount, which appear to be in the way of the front of the block!

Many thanks in advance to anyone that can help and I hope someone comes through like you lot usually seem to be able to do!

Cheers,

Josh.  :D

on the block itself, there will be a stamp in the casting which will either just say 1.1 (or 1.3) or there will be a stamp which looks just like two dials have been aligned to give the engine size.

either way it will be hidden under some grime so get looking ;)

Thanks for the reply X!

So these two dials, how will I know what they indicate? Will they have a numerical meaning or can I look for the "GU/GF" engine code? Also do you know if they'd be stamped on the front of the block?

Cheers for replying,

Josh.
