How much would you pay for this?

I went to see this today and it was in very good condition.
I was hoping to spend closer to ?2k. Half of me says go for it and half says wait around for a bargain.

hard to say without crawling all over it. if you can afford and will spend that  or near that for a mk1, then it's worth a look. the engine bay pic gives the impression it was not an all over spray job, but that can and does happen with photos. take a gander at it first.

looks like someone just give it an external respray to make it look mint from the outside.

engine bay looks like mine. although mine is carb.

and boot looks worse than mine.

sure its not worth anywhere near that.

Not worth 4 grand there a mint campaign going up on ebay its bidding as well not a buy it now i would suggest that.

I saw it this morning and did have a good poke about. There is not a spot of rust to be seen but you are correct in that the boot and engine bay were not resprayed, not that they looked to bad anyway. As can be seen from the photo in the spray booth. The bumpers, wheel arch trims and engine bay were all looking good.

He is open to offers why is why i ask how much you think it should be?

low price considering its only got a day left but i wouldnt be able to look before bidding as its north of Dundee!

I'd only be prepared to pay half that really. why does it have mk3 steels on it??

why have all that work on the outside and not bother with inside boot..

well they are the same that are on my mk3 estate

also fitted on polo's

No expert but under bonnet and boot looks worse then mine, I would guess quick fill and spray been done. Interior also does not look special!
Ooh Paid ?450 for mine, I would pay no more then ?1000 for that one!

Why not get some quotes for a full rub down spray Say ?2500 at a guess and buy a car for under ?1000 then you know what you are getting.
