How much should i be looking at? and Painters on here?
Its standard non metalic black. i would have the car completely stripped and all the welding and rust will be done so it will be a case of checking my repair/filler work and then primer and paint.
Can anyone give me a rough price? im not after show winning paint just a standard job like factory. If anyone is in the Herts/Essex area that wants me to bring the car to them for a quote and can do the job give me a shout.

a decent job will take a minimum of 30 hours work, a top job will take at least twice that, and black is probably the worst colour to put on, while it covers great, it shows every little flaw in the prep work
ball park numbers..
My S1RST cost me £2900 to get re-painted, i sent them a bare shell which had been dipped and had all mettal work done, they re-fitted doors, boot, bonnet, there wasn't really any filling to be done but they did stone guard it then painted in it and under it.
my punto cost me £1450, this was a same colour re-paint (yellow) i took them a full car with things like lights and side glass removed, door handles wiper motor etc, they did everything else it needed and gave it me back, they had the car for 8 days.
my mondeo cost me £550, this again was a same colour re-paint, they just masked everything up and gave it a blow over in the same colour, they had the car 3 days.
my classic beetle, i got my dad to pait it for me, it took us 4 days, all i had to pay for was materials, it cost £490 for the paint and other stuff you need, it was a colour change so i had to remove the engine and all the glass as well as the trim and everything else, took me a day to strip it, a day to prep it, a day in primer and more prep and a day for the colour, obviously it then took a day to rebuild it and a day with wet and dry and a buffer.
TL;DR..
painting cars is one of the few things in life where you HAVE to pay for quality, you may get a job that looks great for a great price, wait and see what it looks like next year when it's started to flake around the edges or the filler cracks.
