I sold my F reg cabby last year for ?2k. It had about 151k on the clock, but that had a new roof and more original bits than this car has. It was in excelent condition too.

This one's had a different interior put in from a later car, and a few older bits from early car (steering wheel, gear knob, alloys, VDO gauges)

Its impossible to value a car without looking at it in the flesh. A new hood adds loads of value to a car. TBH I doubt it will sell with a hood like that on it.

There seems to be more cabby being sold these days, its a case of supply and demand, the time will come when there's less cabbys and more potential buyers, and the price will spring up again. Think of it like a reverse psychology: everyone thinks the cabby's price is low in winter and high in summer. So canny buyers don't search for a car in summertime, reversing the natural effect.

Probably a good idea.  If you still want to sell you prob wont lose anything on the replacement hood.  It's one of the main niggles when buying a cab.  A brand new roof on a shined up car should sell itself.
