how much can you make from breaking a mk1?

ive got a mk1 f reg cab 1.8gti which has been sat for a year without having the gasket replaced, i hve now bought this and am in the process of fitting it, i fear that its not going to work after this and if it doesnt then i really dont have the time or money to get it running, its in all roun good condition. i was wondering what the best move would be either selling it whole or breaking it, does anybody have an idea of what i could make out of it by using either of the options? i would like to keep the car as a whole its a bit of a shame to waste a generally good car. any help much appreciated

hi mate your better off writing all the parts as a list have a look through this sight and ebay and put what price you think each part may fetch and do a total price,of course some parts aint worth that much or some parts wont sell at all but some parts will be worth a pretty penny.
The shell you could way in as scrap and get 70 -100 quid metal prices go up and down all the time so wait until its high and way it in after drilling off the battery tray and cutting off the front panel etc if any good.
ebay is a good place to sell a lot of the stuff you could even sell bolts and clips etc it all adds up.

unless you have decent wheels/hood/interior then dont bother, bang it on ebat for £500 start.
