How many owners

Am going to have a look at a tintop tomorrow, and just hpi checked it, all comes up ok, just that it has had like 15 previous owners so has had 16 with the current owner. I know its an old car but it works out to be just over a different owner every 1.5 years.

What i am asking i guess is, how many previous owners has yours got, and have they still turned out to be good cars.

Also anything i should maybe be looking out for when buying a tintop, as i have never owned a tintop, only a couple of floppys

My Cabby was owned by the world and his brother before me. It didn't put me off and it's been a pretty solid car from day one.

i can see why you might me concerned though.

I don't see why the amount of previous owners makes any difference?

I'd rather the car have 20 different owners and to know that it was used rather than have 2 years and be sat for 20 years doing nothing

Mine has 15 btw

There have been 12 owners on my logbook. It's all down to condition of the car number of owners means nothing.

mine has 3  :mrgreen:

but the mk3 has 14 :evil: and its abit of a dog

and my bike has had 17 since its import in 2001 but my bike is perfect

both mine have had 14 owners

mines had 12 !!

last mot and tax disc were dated october 2005

ihave a folder full of reciepts off the last owner too ….made me happy to knnow it was looked after before i got my hands on it !!

I'd be more wary if the previous owner had only had it a couple of months. All cars have problems, the longer the PO has owned it, the more likely they have been addressed.

I'm the 3rd of my mk1, 2nd of mk3.

My cabby has had 5...

will just have to bite the bullet and actually go see it, only so much can be seen in pictures. The guy has been as honest as i think he can be, as i am travelling a bit to see it. Its not a minter i no that, but i am hoping it aint gonna be another shed.

Anyway worse that can happen is i lose my fuel money getting there and back.

When I go look at oldr vehicles I don't really think about number of keepers and mileage.

Always buy on condition. Once it's past ten years the mileage doesn't really count for much.

I find it's better to buy based on body work than engine, for me an engine can be dropped in easier than new metal can be let into a shell.

Don't believe any last owner was careful and take any description with a pinch of salt.

I went to see a mars red one with no sunroof a couple of weeks ago, sounded great, until i got there. was a shed  :cry: where is it?

Just reading through your old posts, does have a few of the same problems you described in one of your posts, for example the steering wheel not on straight, as the seller has advised me of this.

Maybe just a coincidence ( i hope )
