how many mk1's do you see a day

Bit of a random one really but i wondred how common / how likely it is for others to see another mk1 on an average day.

And if this goes up more in summer, i.e people bringing there cabbies out

Its just one day last week i saw a clipper cab in central BRISTOL NCP car park, so stopped and put a MK1OC card on thier window. Then the next day i saw two lovely ladies in a GTI cab wating to go through Mc Donalds drive through so pulled over and gave them a card, think the fact i was in the civic confused them abit, then on the way back from there also saw another tidy k plate black cab driving in opposite direction to me.

Also when i have been travelling for work lately i have come across 3 tin tops all in different parts of the country i have been in.

Just strange as before that i would barely see one

I usually see at least one on my way to work - a brown Golf C (I think) that travellis in the opposite direction.  There's a couple that float around UWE which is close to the office.

It's generally not unusual to see 2 or 3 in a day during the summer.

About 1 a week.

They seem to be a bit like buses, I don't see any for ages then 3 come along at once, I was lost in Radford in Coventry the other day and saw about 4 cabs all parked within a couple of streets of each other.

Have noticed more about since the weather has improved!

I saw two cabby's in a matter of minutes whilst eating in a restaurant yesterday.

I very rarely see 5dr tin tops which makes mine feel special!

normally 1 possably 2 a week during summer months, can go weeks without spotting any mind you.

normally, none then once every few weeks or so one may pop up.

every few weeks at least 1 unless i look out back on the driveway! :wink:

I see roughly see 2-3 a week depending on what time I go out….. There's a guy who delivers pizza in a mk1 see him driving about a fair bit lol

I tend to see more Lamborghini's and Ferrari's than mk1s seen 3 Lambos and 2 Ferrari's just today and no Mk1s

I see one a week on average.  Mostly cabby's even in winter.  

Thing is I don't remember seeing any before I bought mine and I've always loved them… think I finally looked into buying one when I had a whack of savings… still never saw any…. finally settled on one and suddenly was starting to see them every other week  :dontknow: … saw more this year already than I did last year… strange… getting more popular thinking about it  :dontknow:

I always find you get a car, be it, whatever, and then suddenly you notice loads of them more than any others. I realise this is becasue you are subconciously on the look out but mk1's I'd say, probably 1 a week at most, but like Jimmeney said, the other day I saw a silver series 2 and then 3 cars behind was a cabby. They might have been together out on a trip or whatever, but I do seem to see loads and then go a few days/weeks and then see loads again. Either way, I love seeing them and always give my appreciation with a thumbs up out the window. Even if they dont respond, (normally because they are old grandmas,) I still have a huge smile on my face.

Sadly a rare occurance for me.  About 10 days ago I did see a guy in a white Clipper.  He waved at me and it made my day.  Maybe I need to get out more.

Few and far between here! Probably works out at less than one a month  :cry: Nearly all cabbys. For a while though, there was me and another guy, both with Mars red tintops living in the same town! It's a small town too! First time I'd ever seen it, he'd parked next to me, I nearly tried to unlock the wrong car by mistake before I noticed (it was dark)!  :mrgreen:

But I do spot a white cabby every now and again!

its crazy usually i dont see many then when us Bristol lot got together yesterday, we saw 2 cabriolets drive past in the half hour we were stood in car park ! we managed to catch one and give him a card :-), the other bug*er got away

i see 1 or 2 rag tops a day and see tin top's maybe once every two weeks…..

and i must sort my membership renewal out….
