How many miles did yours do last year???

My MK1 is due for it's M.o.T next month so I thought I'd dig out last years certificate to see how many miles the car has done in the last 12 months.

And wait for it……………. It's done an earth shattering 407 miles.

It did just over 500 the year before and about 900 the year before that.

In total the cars done less than 2000 miles since it's rebuild three and a half years ago.

Sadly I wont be taxing the car this year due to the increase in VED, and just can't justify it.

I was thinking or summit the same our classic insurance gives us about 50miles a week when you work it out over 12 months.

I've had people tell me these old cars are damaging the environment yet most of the new cars they all own are out running around most of the day! too an from the shop for fags an beers while cruising through mc'Donalds car park..

I pay like most of you around 118 quid for 6 months road tax because it's based on emissions yet my cabs doing less then 20miles a week! So who's running up all the emissions the other car drivers not me an their road tax is cheaper! I say it should be based on miles covered and emissions..

Only issue is policing it all can you imagine have a tacho in everyone's cars! Even that would be a nightmare an sound more like living in a nanny state.

Not looking to piss anyone off, as my cab will soon be my daily driver too! Just saying because I've a mate who's running 1.4 corsa doing 200 miles or so a week an only paying 60 odd quid a year on road tax, this to me sounds a bit mad but it's a good job he has a discount like that otherwise I don't think he'd have a social life tbh.

30 ish? was a daily until i took it to a garage to do an engine conversion. "3 months, no problem" he said

I do about 2500 Miles per year in mine over the summer months, bear in mind 550 of that is coming/going to Uttoxeter every July. Just booked again for 2012... :wink:

Although she did do 210 miles on the back of a trailer!

About 6500.mines a daily to .But total milage is 203,980 and thats not bad for an.1985.

Ours did about 1800!

I bought it Jan 8th this year, on the road approx 14/15th Jan. Since then I've done 3000 already.
It was stored last year, and apparently not used much year before.
My 'reasonable' milage of 110k on the clock when i bought it is looking closer and closer to high milage Lol
