how can i save money on prep work before a respray

whats the best ways to save money on the prep work before a re-spray ..
wat sorta stuff is the best for stripping paint and do u need to toally remove all the old paint completely ??

A lot of people suggest keeping the old paint on is best. Of course sort any rust/metalwork that needs doing, otherwise I guess it's a case of being methodical and taking your time in flatting down the paint.

Make sure you take windows out and trim off - not suggesting you wouldn't but I've seen this done and it's not worth it - will make a mess!

Just take the windows and trim off mate as most painters wont  paint over your prep work anyway as they like to make sure its done to their standards so its best to leave it up to painter who you decide to use.
