Help what colour is my sportline?

I wonder if anyone can help me? Ive got a 1991/2 Sportline (cabrolet) in black.  Casn anyone tell me the colour name/code number. As Im trying to put it back to standard, any information greatfully recieved.

Inside the boot, on the cross brace bar should be!! a data sticker, that contains the engine type code gearbox etc and will also have the paint code

it will be a 4 digit number and letter something like LC3P IT WONT be that one as thats tornado red i think its just to give you an idea what to look for, if you have the original service stamp book? it should also have the same sticker inside the front cover

What year is the sportline? and whats non standard? I have a red one so may be able to give you a clue of whats missing/been changed as mine is totally standard

Thanks very much for your help.  

Its a 1991. I know there are a few things missing, we have no side indicators, it has the wrong wheels, grill and needs some tlc.

We rebuilt the engine last year so the worst of it is done.

cool, there was a set of 4 Black centred RA sportline alloys on ebay the other day, it may have been a member off here selling them actually :wink:

The car should have the standard amber side repeaters, does it have holes in the wings for them? if not it may have had the wings replaced at some point with some from an earlier golf as they did not have side repeaters, its easy enough to re drill the wings, the fitting is the same as a corrado or mk2 golf so you can make a pattern and the loom for the lamps can be bought or it may still be there :dontknow:  it only plugs in any way so its nothing major

Does it still have orange needled dash clocks? Recaro interior? side 1/4 "sport line" stickers?

Yes its got the orange needles, recaro seats and stickers.

Do you have a leak in the roof? above the driver & front passanger windows?  I do, I have seen a few Sportlines on ebay and they all seem to have the same water marks on the seat so I was wondering if this was a common thing?

I have still got them sportline bbs ra`s for sale, some guy bought them but i think he thinks its buy now pay later or something, keeps emailing saying gonna pay next week.

Its good its got all those bits then, interior and clocks are the hardest to obtain

as for the leak! no, mine is 99% leak proof! think i may have a small leak on a rear lamp or boot seal though as i washed it the other day and some water got in the boot  only a tiny bit mind so it may just be the presure washers fault

if its only on the front sides it maybe? the window top seals need renewing, they run up the door gutter to the front edge of the windows, if i have my window open in the rain the water just pours in off that seal all over ya leg!!!! if it has electric windows? you can adjust the stop position by adjusting the crude bolt on the motor stop behind the door panel so the window goes up a smidge further, if not it sounds like either the roof has shrunk a little or those seals need replacing

ios the hood cotton (mohair) or plastic? mines been renewed to mohair and its a vast improvement

Best look on ebay.de, we got a set with tyres for?110 and ?50 carriage a few months back, just depends on if they are willing to ship to the uk!

BTW, all mk1's were painted in straight black out of the tin. no tinter etc. It is called swartz black.

The paint code for a black sportline is L041.GLOSS BLACK.H ad the leaking roof problem with mine when i bought her.The vinyl roof had shrunk so i changed it for the mohair.Checked out all the seals and they were fine.Been dry as a bone for the last 4 years.
