Help wanted - Derby

hey recently my mk1 gti has been slow to start, and now it wont start for love nor money, it turns over fine, but just wont catch.

i'm about to do the obvious checks (spark, fuel pump, dizzy) but not being the most mechanically minded i was hoping someone around derby might be able to give me a hand?

check the coil too, I had a problem with this when mine would'nt start. also worth cleaning the pins on the fuel pump relay as mine regulary gets hot (I imagine this is what it is) and gets a layer of crappage on it.

Checked everything i could think of, seemed to be getting a spark, seemed to be getting fuel…..

Wasn't until my mk1 expert had a fettle a found the paddle on the metering head was sticking not allowing enough fuel in, simple really!
