Help wanted :D

hey all
just wondered if anyone has any good ideas on a easy engine conversion i could do with the beast!, i would love something quick like a vr6, but think thats quite hard
anyone know of any engines in good nick for sale, (apart from on ebay)?
live in east anglia, norfolk if anyone is near!

hi amz, what engine you got in there as it stands?

most engines are quite easy if there out of the golf or scirocco or summat.

if yours is a 1.1 or 1.3 like mine you will need to do a little modding to one of the engine mounts to fit the 1.6 or 1.8 engine in.

something like a vr6 is almost a full remake of the front end, this is defo not easy! lol

iv got the 1.1 and i found a 1.8 injection for my car. doesnt look too bad. theres loads of info on here tho and someone who has done a conversino or two will be able to help you.

hi bud im from norwich some dubgen lads are doing 1.8 turbo convertions . wat u got in yours at the moment . and wat you up to on aug 1 st .

i have a 1.3 engine originally, but after i wrote this, a mate found a whole mk3 golf for sale for cheap with a 1.8 engine in it, im off to look at it on saturday,
i need this to get me kick started into doing it up again
i think there is a show on that date, its just up the road from me, is that what u are on about bigdub? x

Hi Im no expert but i think an 1.8 from a Mk3 wont be as easy as it would be from a mk1 gti 1.8 engine as im sure you will have ignition issues to overcome i might be wrong :dontknow:

Plus possably different gearbox mounts.

we are on at old buckenham air field . is that nr you . we have mk 1 o/c stand if you can make it . have a look at events [ national ] dubgeneration show on this forum .

Hay guys just wondering if any one could help me out ive bought a 1983 mk1 golf GTI its got a standard 1.6engine and wanted to know what engine i could fit straight in with out any probs
