Help for flooded mk1's??

Hi everybody,
Just listening to the news about the floods we?ve been having and got me to thinking how many mk1s have been damaged in the floodwaters?
Just wondering if there was anything we could do to help them out once the waters go down?

What I was thinking is why don?t we have a thread where people can post whats been damaged on their cars by the floods then if any of us have any spares lying around we could send them over to help out?

I just thought it might get a few poorly mk1s at least back to a drivable condition at least?

Whats everyone?s thoughts?

sounds good to me. no doubt that if they went anywhere near the insurance route their car would be a gonner!  :?

Yeah that was my thoughts ? lots of insurance comps have ?preferred? repairers  :banghead:  and these might not be the best to deal with a mk1 so this would give them an alternative.

Plus I have a few odds and sods lying around that I wouldn?t think of selling (because you never know when you might need them!) but if someone on here needed them to get themselves straight then they could quite happily have them!
Im sure there are others on here who feel the same?

Same here in Tunbridge Wells.  We had a bit of rain last week causing water to slowly trickle down my driveway for a couple of days.  I think it has caused my discs and drums, fuel lines, filler pipe, arches and drivers door to rust.  I also have dents in my bumpers, the roof has faded and I have lost tread on my front tyres.  Tax, MOT and Insurance seem to have been affected also cos the cabbie hasn't got any of them.

If anyone could help with any of the above, please let me know.

Joking aside, I've got a few spares my wife would quite happily see me get rid of so they can be donated to any submerged golfs in Oxfordshire and Gloucestercestershire.
