Gti plastic arches, quick question

how much further do they extend out than standard metal arches,

about 2-3mm  :dontknow: . they are moulded to the shape of the arch, so its just the thickness of the plastic

oh right, i wasnt sure if they were designed to give an extension on the arch or not. was hoping some one was gonna say they give you an extra 2cm  :cry:

I think they do give you a little bit. Not sure how much though, likely to be more than 2mm IMO

Didn't realise 7 inch wheels with etc 20 would be such a problem, and thanks for that very informative post.

There's plenty of posts here on wheel fitment - and people who have problems fitting wide wheels. There's also some people who say they've gotten wide wheels to fit fine. And a number of pics of wheels and tyres sticking past the arches. You won't find the answer in one post, but you'll be wise to do a good search and read a number of different threads on the subject. Indeed, there might be some really useful info from people who have fitted wide wheels, legally. I can't remember a particular thread, but good luck searching.

Ultimately, a useful thing would be to compile a table of wheel sizes, wheel offset, tyre sizes, amount (and type) of lowering and required other mods to make them fit.
