Group Buy on MK1 JIG

Hi guys I've approached the guy who made the Jig for my resto project to see if he could do us a good price on a group buy. Just really trying to get a feel for who would be interested

I cant get to photobucket at the moment but you'll see some pics of it here
http://www.vwgolfmk1.o…0&postorder=asc&start=160

It could be changed to fit a variety of other cars by changing the mounting plates, its length adjustable and has enough room to turn the car thro 90 degrees

the way its designed to fit into the bumpers id expect the brackets to fit the caddy no problem, the centre section is expandable so it shoudl take the extra length of the caddy no probs.

Get me the over all bumper to bumper length of the caddy and i'll ask the question to be on the safe side.

The brackets will fit an rray of motors, IE id expect  mk2 to go on the same brackets no problems

Come on guys!
You not telling me that all you who weld up your own body work during restos can't get a bit of 40*40 box, some tube, and make your own jig for about 70 quid, or less??
My old man made one of these for his MG - it is not hard if you can 'just' weld and use a tape measure.
Go on - give it a go.   :D

Try 40 quid for mine - totally mobile  8) and monster castors for all terrain

seriously guys - ?300 would do quite a lot of work to a mk1….

Not slaggin the idea just trying to say that there's a cheaper route… :D

Have to agree - in any case its not really a Mk1-specific thing, its adaptable to any other car. If I were to do a bunch of welding on the underside of the car, I'd knock one up in steel too, and make it adjustable to accommodate other cars too. To make it adjustable, you'd simply need to drill a bunch of holes and fit bolts, in between the main parts.

Very true, I was going to say that, but I did not want to upset any one who wants to get one! ?300 is too much for me! Could easy make one if I ever need one!

Simply to offer an option to those who cant weld, dont have the time or knowledge to make one up.
